Shootas, Blood and Teef, Switch review

Shootas, Blood and Teef draws on the rich tapestry of the Warhammer 40k Universe.

There have been many, various FPS, Turn-Based games and my personal favourite the dungeon crawler Inquisitor.

On paper it’s a match made in heaven.

The opportunity to step into the heavy boots of Space Orks, crack some bad Dad jokes and blow shit up, will float many boats.

Destiny’s Sword (PC)

Destiny’s Sword describes itself as a “living graphic novel”

To me it’s more akin to the Choose Your Own adventure books that were common place when I was growing up – and that’s not a bad thing, believe me.

Told through comic book-style panels, Destiny’s Sword has you commanding a planetary defense force as it works to keep the peace on the planet Cyris.

Who doesn’t like LEGO? I have always been a bit of a AFOL, Adult Fan Of Lego if you were wondering.

LEGO Brawls, Xbox Review

Avenging Spirit, review

Arcade games in the 90’s were great, Jaleco were a powerhouse and Avenging Spirit was considered a classic in the stable. Lovingly brought back to the living room by Ratalaika Games S.L. its a classic arcade platformer, that deserves to be remembered.

I have a few memories of Avenging Spirit, originally feeding coins into it between college lessons at a greasy cafe way back when. More recently however it cropped up on my Pandora driven Arcade Cab, and I couldn’t help but have a rose-tinted go.

Turrican Anthology Vol. 1 & 2, Switch Review

What’s better than yearning after some retro Turrican goodness? Playing all the Turrican versions on Switch of course!

Turrican holds strong ground in my Amiga memories, I know I played a couple of them right through. Although I cant remember exactly which episodes they were.

That said the gameplay was always strong, wide open levels, secrets, enemies and upgrades. There was a forgiving respawn system and enemies stayed dead, which was nice.

Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel, Byte Size Review

I have to be honest, I don’t tend to sit alone in the dark with a horror/survival games any more.

Sure, Resident Evil and Silent Hill are memorable experiances from my “gamer history”, but as I have got older they not experiances I need to revisit. Honestly, just too scary.

Fobia – St Dinfna Hotel is drawing inspiration from these giants of the genre, but with slightly less… intensity.
