It’s Minecraft week (finally)

From Monday there will be officially 2 more sleeps until Minecraft officially lands on the xbox360 and wraps up the Arcade Next promotion. While it may not be shipping day 01 with the promised Kinect functions, I’m sure that is an aspect that will pale into comparison once I start understanding the crafting hierarchy. Minecraft is something I have admired from afar and resisted on mac/pc for fear of a time consuming void, I think I am in better control of my xbox time…. we’ll see, but in the meantime here is some more official info after the break.

“Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition”1 is breaking out of Windows PCs and building a new sandbox on Xbox LIVE Arcade2 on Wednesday, May 9! From the creative minds at 4J Studios and Mojang, “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition”1 will bring the global phenomenon to console gamers for the first time. The Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the game features an innovative new crafting interface, natural controller movements, a full Tutorial mode to teach the basics and for the first time in “Minecraft,” split-screen multiplayer as well as over Xbox LIVE.

“Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” for Xbox LIVE Arcade will be available for 1600 Microsoft Points.
